I have an issue with my E63 2010 MCT transmission, currently have no fault codes on the transmission or on the ECU.

Transmission jerks from gears 2-1 or 1-2 or when flooring, but normal driving transmission is smooth all the way to the 7th gear, also wants to move when stationary and in drive and foot on the brake.

Any ideas what the problem is?

Have you had the car long. Has it been doing this just recently. Might be good to have a transmission oil filter change. Or have an auto specialist take a look. Does it mis behave in all gear box settings or just D mode. The mct I find in sport mode is very harder shifting than in D mode. Could it be worn clutches on the clutch pack itself. When in sport gear box setting dropping from 2nd to 1st gear can sometimes feel not as smooth as when in D mode as the gear box drops to 2nd gear only. Like said I personally find d mode to be the smoothest setting but then it's in a more relaxed setting.

Any fault codes from STAR diagnostic?
And have the gearbox and engine mounts been changed in those 14 years? In which case if not they will be shot also.

no fault codes whatsoever, gearbox has been serviced, definitely does it more when in S os S+ only when you floor it, if you drive normally its ok.

The jerking can be violent.

Did it do it before you had it serviced, what miles was it serviced. Should be around 37k mark and then 30k each after. Needs specialist to take a look. It's all guess work until you can narrow it down. Has it had a tcu update. Could be numerous things. Get a MB indy or specialist to take a look for you.

Like I said above, the shifts can definitely feel more harsh when going at it as opposed to driving it more refined. When I had a vibration through the gear box it was the transmission mounts, replacing them sorted that out. I personally find the mct very good and responsive but it's not as smooth as a tc auto box. But there is positives and negatives for both types. M mode is best if you fancy a play. D mode is best for driving normally. S S+ I find get confused and either don't change up or down to my liking. It's all dependent on Rd conditions and traffic flow also.

The software has been updated on the TCU, to be honest local indies don’t have a clue, one is saying its the gearbox and the other saying its the MCT but both a guessing don’t really want to be wasting money on guessing.

So this transmission I installed in my car, no history on the transmission apart from done 54k miles and well looked after, i serviced the tranny when installing.

I have a feeling its the MCT but need to be 100% sure, as faulty MCT will not throw a fault code.

Get it into a auto box specialist would be my next step.

What happened to the original gear box?

I installed E63 MCT transmission in my W202
C43

Before this i had 722.636 from W211 E55

Does anyone know correct part number for 2009/2010 MCT? Part number i have A221 250 03 01

Any good indi will know from driving it. MCT failure is very obvious and easy to reproduce on test drive.

Your fault sounds like a valve body fault, espceially as its only 2 gears, but all the basiscs need to be checked (fluid level etc!)
