Eco Start Stop

Most likely. Mine died at around that age also. There are some however that last 10 to 12 years . We must just be unlucky. ?
I've had 4 cars with stop/start, two Mercedes with AGM batteries that had to be replaced at 4 years old and two Nissans with enhanced flooded batteries that had to be replaced at less than 3 years old under warranty. The stop/start is switched off on them all but the batteries still failed after a few years.
My previous CLK without stop/start was sold at 13 years old with the original battery still going strong, like every car I've had before it.
Something has changed with batteries recently, or is it the stop/start system that wears them out even when switched off. Or, is it the chargeing system thats changed to take advantage of regenerative braking?
