Hello All

I will be looking at a C63 in the near future, a friend tells me I need to make sure it’s an Edition 125 since it has the revised gearbox and better lights etc? Apparently 12 plate isn’t and 62 onwards only, but I’ve seen adverts from 61 plate claiming it’s an Edition 125. Please can someone tell me what plates are and what it actually means for it to be that edition.

Thanks in advance

I think its around 61 plate and the main upgrade was Comand as standard.

I don’t think there’s any difference. Edition 125 is just the first of the facelifts. The facelifts come with different lights, dashboard, command and upgraded gearbox

Not quite right. The 125 was released at the same time as the facelift late in 2011, as geraldrobins said with COMAND as standard. It was dropped after a brief period. I ordered my C-class in early November 2011 but was just too late for the 125. So I paid for COMAND.

Basically, if you buy a facelift car (with it’s claimed 2000 upgrades over the pre-facelift model) and it has COMAND, it’s the same as the 125 without a badge stuck on the side!

Thank you, I’ll watch it later no doubt it’ll be a scary watch lol.. though I’ve seen many “common problems” videos already, I would most certainly only view one with one particularly buddy who has owned several and kept for many years. I learned the hard way buying an RS4 B7 alone, had it 2 years very expensive issues, just sold it last week.

Nothing in the video would stop me buying one , just best to do research , on any car really , not just C63's👍
I watched it, and it seems most the issues are straight forward repairs, may be expensive but that’s just how it goes. Still cheaper than leasing a brand new car 😁, once my post count increases I can put a wanted topic up, would really like a forum owned one that’s been looked after.
