EGR Replaced 500 Miles Ago, now Actuator Stuck Closed

Hi,

My 2013 E350CDi Blue Efficiency had EGR circuit issues the other week and was replaced by a local garage after unsuccessfully trying to clean it first.

I’ve since put 500 or so miles on it only to be driving it earlier and it started holding gears and loss of power.

I read codes and have a P042F logged - which is EGR actuator stuck closed?

Is there anything else that needs checking? The old valve had 82K on it and was the original factory part, I think?

Any insight appreciated.

Was it replaced with in original MB part? I had my EGR valve go around 180k recently and replacement MB parts were on back order for months. I used a branded aftermarket part which did not work as it was getting stuck from new, From what I've discovered the only reliable guaranteed to work part is an MB part. The original part was cleaned and refitted and so far its ok, but I'll be buying an MB part and keeping it as a spare to swap out, which can be done DIY.
