Actually the following problems were occurring after I collected the car from my mechanic on the original battery (after he tested the battery and advised that it needed replacement), but I took the car home and changed the battery to the new one and it still had the same problems (I had decided to purchase and fit the battery myself).

None of this was happening before I took the car to my mechanic, the windows & roof all worked perfectly. He only had it to test the battery and if wasn't that, then he was to look into why the battery was going flat after a couple of days.

1 no windows will drop on the drivers side
2 seats do not move on either side
3 main window will drop on passenger side button
4 rear windows will not drop on button either side
5 roof will not complete drop as drivers window does not drop at all. Interestingly the other windows do drop
6 rear window on drivers side does not inch up when door closed

Does anyone have any solutions or have experienced this before?
:frowning:

Unfortunately I cannot take the car back to my mechanic to get him to look at it at the moment (he doesn't work Fridays) also I couldn't speak to him at the time as I collected the car after he had gone home due to my work commitments and I didn't realise until after I had started to drive home.

Many thanks Steve

search 'norm' windows/sunroof/seat

you need to teach all end positions to them
Unfortunately the buttons are non reactive, they will not move windows or seats at all to reset them.

Do not push (windows) button to end, just that they move, Or then keep clicking and step them cm by cm to end stop.

Check fuses, 2004 car might still have them, I can't remember for sure....

What did he use to check the battery? If he used a heavy discharge tester which puts a short circuit across the battery terminals, that could have spiked the front SAM. This would cause the issues that you have.

no movement whatsoever I'm afraid :(

I suspect he did something like this, but not entirely sure as I can't speak to him until next week. Not sure where I stand as he did not charge me anything and I didn't realize that there was a problem until after I picked the car up in the evening. I presume that something like that is not going to very cheap to put right.

What happens if you press and hold the recirculating air button ,with the engine running. ?

Checked mine today , it only shuts the windows if they open , it won't open them if they're closed . Welcome to try though , or try your key fob on the door handle if you've got total closure.
