Hi I bought a CLS 500 2005, with 72k. Looking through the service book, it seems the electrohydraulic control unit (£760ish) was replaced at 69k. I know this is the issue with the transmission failing etc.

With this replaced, is this likely to fail again or can I enjoy the car?

thanks

Just enjoy it. The electroplate isn't generally unreliable, many go the life of the car without problems.

Thanks guys so with this replaced, I can expect to live a happy life lol.

I should also mention that when driving over non road surfaces such as cats eyes or manholes, I feel a slight slide left to right in the rear, like minor over and under steer. Is this normal on wet about 40-70mph?

My PSI are 36 front and 38 rear, and tires look to have decent tread.

The tyre pressures are too high.

If the tyre pressures and tyres are good, look at suspension bushes.

EDIT:
Does this car have SLS or ADS, if so, check the spheres are all good.

Ok what do SLS and ADS stand for? Not sure if this helps but car just passed MOT few days ago. Regarding the bushes, there is no clunking noise or anything, just a little more movement than what I think there should be.

Woukd like a bit more background on this ecu module. Anyone with knowledge or experience of these failing? thanks guys

I'd agree with DM those tyre pressures sound way too high if you post your wheel and tyre sizes + make of tyres people could probably advise further

Will post pics, not got foggiest about the sizes. Thanks, I am getting tire pressure error showing in dash but thought that was a regular niggle with these.

Tyre sizes will be written on the side of the tyres.

Guys got a few pics, now these tires were on when I bought the car, not sure how gd they are but I believe they are staggered sizes?

any advice on the condition and PSIs is appreciated.

Recommended tyre pressure PSI/ BAR should be on a label inside the petrol filler cap.

Will have a look at fuel cap when Bro returns car :)

Anyone recommend me pressures?

My favourite pressure is 600psi ...

Don't put it in your tyres though
