Engine Management Light

A couple of days ago my external air temperature sensor failed. A couple of hours later the Engine Management light came on as the sensor was still u/s.

Is this pure coincidence or are there checks the ECU does which make this light come on?

I've since replaced the sensor and have driven for about 20 minutes but the light is still on.

Try erasing the fault code using STAR or other scanner, this should extinguish the EML, then drive the car and see if it comes back.

Sorted...left the car for a few hours and have just been out in it, and the EML has gone off. Looks like it auto corrected itself.
