That is probably the lowest MB spec possible .
As above , you want 229.51 or the newer 229.52 .
If the car was a petrol it would be 229.3 or 229.5

The lowest spec possible was the highest spec not too long ago!
As long as its 'Spec'
It'll be fine.
It's a bit like using Bottled Water to flush a Toilet.
It's unnecessary, and more expensive!

As above, 229.31 is now superseded by 229.51.
I use this on both my Merc diesels. It’s a bargain and you can afford to change more often if you feel the need.

Hi,

I have a 2019 C200 W205 Petrol, every so often the instrument panel that displays the oil level says its 3/4 full, however, other times its displays full level. I keep the car on a level.

The main problem I have is that my car does not have a dip stick to manually check it.

Is there any other way I can check the level with out using the instrument panel?

Many Thanks

In that era both 229.31 and 229.51 would have been acceptable specs but the service light would have come on after lower miles if 229.31 had been used. Part of resetting the service indicator requires entering which oil spec was used for that reason. If you look at those two oil specs in detail there is precious little difference between them except for the maximum oil change interval.
