<div class="bbWrapper">Although the CLK 220 CDI displays the oil quantity on the dashboard I like the idea of seeing the level manually. There is provision for this and there are dipsticks available. Anyone use these, as there is quite a variety and not sure if they can be left in the tube, or have to be removed as is the case with the auto transmission dipstick.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">There are plenty on the “bay of fleas” though not sure which one you would need. Have you asked at Mercedes, they may do a generic one with the correct markings ??<br /> I don’t think they are meant to be left in either.</div>

Curtain wire. Put it in the tube, measured, and cut to length. Then at the correct oil level put a mark with pliers. Coiled up after use and now lives in the engine bay next to the transmission dipstick. I did notice however the oil is very black not long after an oil change.</div>
