C200 CDI Avantgarde SE
Hello all. It’s been a long time but it’s good to be back!

I’ve bought a 2004 C200 CDI with only 69000 miles on the clock and full service history. The chap I bought it from only done 1000 miles a year in it but it runs like a Swiss watch. I recently cleaned 20 years of muck from the EGR valve and fitted new glowplugs but have one question - it gets along the road like a stabbed rat and from driving a few C220s in the past this is miraculously quicker than them. I’m not complaining at all but could someone have re-mapped it in the past?

Cheers all,
J

Some engines are healthier than others in terms of power output but that difference would be unlikely to be noticed without measuring it in controlled conditions. The difference you mention sounds like it’s much much more than that so it sound like it’s either been modified or it’s not the model you think it is.
