Thought I had submitted this already but can't find any replies so must have done something wrong! Have a R129 SL350 and when I switch off engine after a run it makes a wheezy whistling noise for about three seconds every 30 seconds or so but with increasing time lapse as engine cools down. It seems to come from the nearside front part of the engine but even with head under the bonnet can't detect where or what it is. car has only done just over 3000 miles. Has anyone any ideas please?

Hello and welcome.:):):)

First you cant have a 129 SL350, but you can have a 230 SL350 as the 129's do not make noises and the 230's do we will assume that it is a 230
Some have aux pumps that run on but do not worry about it. my 230 SL talks to itself for 20 min before shutting up and going to sleep

Yes you are correct it is a 230. Many thanks for putting my mind at rest. Just waiting for some sunny weather to keep the top down!

The 230 is great for top down motoring for most of the year,, I can see no point in having it down just because it does, sometimes it as nice with it up in summer to be out of the heat. Where the 230 scores is in the length and angle of the windscreen as this offers virtually draught and wind free motoring, also the seats go very low.

Agreed. Must be nice with good weather down on South coast. Bit bleak up here in North Wales but at least the roads are fairly clear to put your foot down, although have to watch out for mad Mullah with his horse box cameras! Thanks again.
Denis.
