Whats the standard position for the gauge on a C180. Mine is currently 80 - Half way even on a local journey of 10mins duration even if the car hasnt been used. I.e. On the morning journey to work.

Dont seem to remember it getting this high so quickly before.

Had it running at a car show the other week probably for around an hour maybe a bit more a it hit the top of the gauge. It was a hot day. But what do you think?

Maybe the coolant level is a tad low and consequently is heating up a bit more quickly?

Nah fully topped up.

Only got the one fan directly driven off the engine

the quicker the car reaches it optimum running temperature and stays their the more efficient it is...their for the car is running fine, mine reaches 80 in about 5 mins hot weather or cold weather.....
