Hi,

I was given an EQC by Mercedes and I’ve had it a month so far.

I am averaging 1.9kwh around London. The range has been between 190 miles to 220 miles. This is a mixture of speed bumps to a roads.

I’ve done around 500 miles so far.

I am due to go a long trip on the weekend so will let you know how I get on. For anyone asking I am driving in D auto. I’ve got the heat on and the heated seats on too. I don’t heat the car with it plugged in.

I think the only new skill I’ve learnt is to let it coast a little which has helped the range. Other than it seems well built and range anxiety was a thing for the first days but I’ve seen to get around it with a little planning. I’ve done a mixture of small trips and trips of up to 50 miles.

The trip to Surrey to Birmingham yesterday 125 miles approx with temperature at around 12.5c and there was heavy rain on the M40 mostly.

I had the heater on and cruised at 70mph to 75mph. The odd overtaking. I was down to 34% battery from 98%.

The journey back the temperature was 3c and cruised at 70mph with heating on. I set off at 93% and got back with 21% battery.

I’ve attached the full journey numbers.

Sorry for blurry picture realised just now. I did in total 259miles and average speed of 52mph with average of 2.3miles per kilo watt

Forget energy efficiency figures..... how do you find the car? :)

It's great for local runs but awful for long distances. I had real range anxiety with the weather temp drop and heating.

It's also expensive to charge and seems petrol cars are cheaper to run long runs.

Also, boring!

I have to say that my IONIQ 5 is amazing in every aspect apart for the fact it's boring to drive. I enjoyed my W204 far more, while I had it.

I can't fault the car for tech though.

I'd consider one for local commutes and get it via the comp but at the moment I think it makes sense to get a hybrid as a run around.
