Hi Guys

Looking at getting my E350CDI remapped, I think I've now had quotes off all three, but which would be the "best" they seem to differ in price quite a bit!

Any experiences of your current mapped 350CDI by any of the above would be great

Go to the place that has a dyno!

Before and after results are the best.

Don't worry about price

I'd pick one that'll give you good support, has a good track record and is closest to you. In the grand scheme of things, theres about 2 tankfulls between the cheapest and the most expensive. I'm sure we can all afford the difference, if not you'll probably have more worthy causes for your money. Having said that, we all love a bargain! don't think you'll go wrong with any of the 3 you mentioned.

That's the thing though i'm not just swayed by price hence why all 3 are in the running Just want to make sure I get the very best

Dyno is pretty important to me, ok the gains will be felt but its nice to see it printed out too!

To be fair i hope it will be towards the end of Feb, things are moving quickly but we dont want to Rush.

Place with a dyno is good and one near you to save on the fuel you will burn on the way home!:bannana::D

Plenty of happy eurocharged punters here, for customer service msl acid is above and beyond the call of duty.

Just to add my input :)

We started development on 350cdi's Early last year and pushed the boundary's quite a bit and our 350 started quite low in power for some reason (was a dealer car so wasn't mapped already) Posted 238BHP and 455lbft after mapping we got 324BHP and 577lbft.

We ran this car for 15k miles with visits to Vmax and dragstrips with no adverse affects on gearbox, turbo or engine. We even returned better MPG. There are many mappers putting out a bit of power but be wary of bad maps that don't update the gearbox or it will not last. Power beyond 750nm will need a high flow DPF or back pressure will be an issue on the later models as you cannot DPF delete them yet.

At the end of the day its your decision and go with what you feel suits your requirements as everyone differs.

Either way get a good map and you will give the M3 boys a run for their money.

PS our 350cdi is still the worlds most powerful to our knowledge :D

No such thing as a bargain when it comes to mapping in my opinion.

I have a ,limited experience in mapping and only "know" about mapping Mitsubishi Evo. With these cars the mappers lap top is plugged in to the ECU and all maps can be customised to suit modifications and wants from the engine/turbo set up. I have always seen this done on a rolling road (dyno) and after a run the valves are changed and another run is done, and on goes the fine tuning till the car is where you want it. All this is done with the ECU in place.

Am I right in believing this is not the way the ECU values are changed in the CDi320 engines? IE the ECU is removed and then a generic map is flashed on to the ECU, ECU then put back in the car and then the appropriate readings (boost, afr's, EGT's etc) checked to ensure the map is safe for that particular car?

In my mind cheaper is not best here, you have to go with the experience and reputation of the mapper you are trusting your car too. I (sorry to go back to Evo) travel from Ayrshire to Aberdeen to have what I consider to be the top mapper in Scotland map my car and I have never had an issue. To get to Aberdeen I have passed several alternative mappers where I could save a fortune on fuel (18mpg when driving easily...... 350 mile round trip) but I would not be happy and feel it is worhtwhile paying the extra to get the best.

I always say go for the mapper with the most experience as the mapping process is evolved through experience and testing.

Yes ECU out on the V6 CDI's
