Ex-Graham Hill Ferrari 250 GTO

If you must move the camera do it smoothly in one direction only. You are sometimes up down sideways then sideways the other way...nauseous.

The engine used in this car (3.0 V12) and also the 250LM makes the most beautiful noise and they sound like they are never going to run out of revs.

There really is something special about a V12

It's a great video. I have heard a 250 GTO start up in real life, it sounds great, it smells great too - Which you don't get nowadays.

Ah the smell of Castor oil in the morning- an important component of the famous CASTROL R racing oil . Another use of castor oil of course is as a purgative a property possibly shared by a Ferrari 250 GTO driven on the limit! ;)
An excellent history here. Castrol R | Motor Sport Magazine Archive

I was at a party about 12 years ago an a dunk boy who turned up in his fathers 250 GTO insisted I take it for a spin. Unfortunately I'd been drinking and didn't want to foot the bill if I crashed it so I ended up driving it around a farms field.

My lasting memory was: stank of petrol and leather in equal quantity, nice enough but from my limited drive, very over priced.

The price of 250 Series of cars is astonishing, especially the 250 GTO. The one above is actually raced by the owner, the front wheel arch was damaged.

Nick Mason races his (which also has the number plate 250 GTO) it's often seen going up the hill at Goodwood.

Lord Bamford (of JCB) owns two and regularly drives them on the road.

It's nice to see them used.

Yeah, I've seen the Bamford car, he has a 250 LM as well. It was run into this year at Goodwood by another car.

Cars should be used, especially at events like The Goodwood Revival.

The one I got to have a go in the chaps daddy had bought it at auction for $9million roughly.
