My Mini cooper failed it's MOT because of these three things -:

Exhaust hydrocarbon content after 2nd fast idle exceeds manufacturer's specified limits (8.2.1.2 (a))

Exhaust carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle exceeds manufacturer's specified limits (8.2.1.2 (a))

Exhaust emits excessive dense blue smoke during acceleration (8.2.1.2 (g))

I wondered if anyone could help me understand what these mean and roughly how much it would usually cost to fix?
Thanks

Try a mini forum?

You are probably better off looking on a MINI forum, these things could be explained in a generic way, however this is more than likely car specific for proper advice....?

hc is unburnt fuel co means the car running rich blue smoke on exceleration could be the rings or valve stem oil seals

Out of curiosity what why did you register with a Mercedes forum?
