Anyone else find the detailing thing odd/mildly amusing?

I'm all for a clean car but I find the levels that these guys go to quite astonishing.

It's clearly a big business due to the number and cost of the products available....

Strikes me as the emperors new clothes though...but hey, if it floats your boat who am I to question it?

I do like my car clean, but agree that sometimes it can seem a step too far.

I'm looking forward to this Forum's detailing section opening. Hopefully there will be plenty of real world advice for keen cleaners like myself.

I have the Ferrari desktop on W7 (free download) and that motor is superb!
Great lines and love those tail pipes!
Still love the California though!

I find them freaky to be honest. Buy a sculpture if you want something to polish and look at and shout to your friends* "Oh looky shiny thingy"

I'm sure it's some kind of mental illness.

Me, I wash and clean the car as and when - but enjoy driving the bloody thing !

Detailing??? What's that?! Sadly, I leave that to the car wash guys up the road who wash the cars, polish them and give them back for me to enjoy driving! (am I a lazy g*t?!
