Fiat 500's UK launch on the London Eye

I've just been invited to this tonight by a mate, anyone else going?

A friend works for a multi franchise dealership and part of the launch of the Fiat 500 involves a live link up to every Fiat dealership so customers can watch the London Eye launch live. Fiat have told the dealerships they will need to BUY or RENT a 42" flat panel for the link up-Bloody cheek!!

Just got back, missed most of it but got our 'goody bags'. Can't believe how cheap the 'goody bag' was, plain unbranded plastic carrier bags, containing a 1/87 scale model of the 500 (so it really is tiny ), full brochure for the 500 (nice ring bound publication) and some flyers. Surely they could have splashed out & had some branded paper bags like they use at Motorshows.

Some nice looking model types ooh and the car itself looks funky. They had loads of 500's (maybe about 15 - 20) driving around in laps around the area outside the London Eye (i.e. around the shell building, toward Royal Festival hall and back round again.

Apparently they had a 'draw' for the tickets to this event. My mate was in two minds about going but decided it would be interesting. He's thinking of getting a 500 Sport as a run around car to get to the station. Although I like it and think it's pretty funky I suggested he look at geeting a Smart instead .

He currently dirves an A4 2.0T S-Line, I've suggested I take him and is son to MB World in Brooklands to be initiated.

Things must be tight then, that's probably why we got given plain carrier bags. Or perhaps they knew I wouldn't be seen carrying a Fiat branded bag
