Re: your wing mirror problem, if you can hear the motor spinning, It may also be just be that the left/right threaded bolt has unscrewed all the way out of the motor.

If not, you can buy just the motor, which comes with all the moving parts including the ball joints people have mentioned. I bought an entire 2nd hand unit before dismantling mine and realising I only needed to swap the motor unit over (4 screws and an electrical plug).

If the motor doesn't sort it you are welcome to the remnants of my spare mirror if you are ever in the area (gloucestershire).

sorry no only bought it last november when i was over in worthing for a few weeks

it was for a project that is on hold

I suspect the AC fault is a leaking condensor. They are so very common to leak and I have just put one on mine.

When you get bored of the little 4.3 you can upgrade to the 5.5 engine......

It just needed a re-gas.

I might be upgrading sooner than planned, I've just been offered a CLK55 so I might be selling the C43!!

The gas had to go somewhere. It just doesn't need re-gassing for no reason.

Fair point, but they did a gas check and there aren't any obvious leaks.

My 43 held under vacuum but leaked out over the next couple of days, mine proved to be the condensor, it had rotted away rather than just springing a leak.

Same story here - the dealer re-gassed and added the dye for detecting leaks - nothing. 2 days later, it was back in 'EC'onomy mode. They replaced the condensor and its been fine ever since.
