Finally got the Mrs' cmax back on Wednesday following some remedial work paid for by the ins co.
All started after an incident on 31st dec - low speed bump with a BMW. Funny thing was BMW was fine but the cmax needed a complete front end and new alloy!!
Anyway car went to Edinburgh based ins approved repairer and almost 1 month later we got the car back - with a whacking great dent in the rear door. Garage took the view that it was on their checklist from when it arrived from the recovery co, although it was inspected almost a week after arriving in the lot. Convenient or what!!
So back on the phone to insurance (who have been A++ all the way through this saga) and they began investigations. 1 1/2 months later the car went back in to have the dent repaired and a week and a half later ( and 2 courtesy cars) it is returned fixed.
Now just glad the saga is over and while this is the shortened, edited and brief version of events, I can feel my blood pressure going down by the day.
My advice....if ever in the Edinburgh area or surrounding parts and your insurance co decide that the car is going to a non dealer repairer,...decline and send it somewhere else - you'll save so much time, stress and effort.
Ok - rant over and feeling better after venting some of the frustrations - couldn't do that with insurance co as they have been fab and so nice and understanding on the phone. Icing on the cake though is that the offending repairers position on the books is now under review. Result!!!
