Following John's thread about favourite food, how about three favourite Restaurants? And to make it more fun, no London restaurants allowed (too easy and I include Manoir and Fat Duck as London for these purposes!!

So to open the batting I offer:

"Hibiscus" Ludlow
"Moody Goose" Bath
"Loughpool" Sellack

From a selfish point of view I'd be very interested to hear of any in Northamptonshire & environs.

I'll go for:

Coombe Abbey - Coventry

Vineyard - Newbury

Allt Yr Ynys - Somewhere near Hereford

I might change my mind though!

The Wharf - Teddington (outskirts of London :p )

The Alternative - Rock , North Cornwall

Fat Boys - Richmond (also outskirts of London :p )

I may change these as i have a think .....

Off the Rails - Knaresborough Station

Wagamama's Reading - yes really I loved it and we're getting one on Leeds on 31 July:bannana:

Black Swan - Burn Bridge - sadly no more:(

Is that Fat Boys Cafe? a Thai place? if it is I know it well and either it's relocated 5 miles, or your geog is as good as my satnav, or, god forbid, you are being a little flexible on the London front!!!

:D :D No harm in asking.

In fairness it has received numerous awards and has featured on our local TV.

Last time I was there, the Barbican had a working fish market??

John

The Wollaston Inn, Wollaston Nr Wellingborough. Been open about 2 yrs now and excellent food and service even to the point of giving us a lift home:

Went out with friends 5 of us in total drove there in car. Few drinks and lots of food later called for a taxi, when he arrived told us sorry can only take 4 so 3 went we stayed to book next taxi (25 min wait) and the manager took us home instead at least 10 mile round trip. Thats service

Also The Falcon at Castle Ashby. Suberb.

If you like Jap then theres the Sakura in Northampton, all cooked fresh and in front of you.
