For Sale - 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK55 AMG.
This has been my own cherished car for over five years now. Always garaged and carefully looked after, it's been a 2nd/3rd car for me that I am only selling now as I now need a larger car with four/five doors.
Registered in September 2001 on a '51 plate this is a very late model W208 CLK55 Coupé.
Brilliant silver metallic with full anthracite nappa leather interior. Both bodywork and interior are in excellent condition.
Has covered only 79K miles from new with full Mercedes-Benz service history upto around 10k miles ago with all main dealer receipts/invoices/bills since. New genuine MB battery just fitted and 12 months MOT until November 2015.
This is the very rare hand built 5.4 litre AMG V8 model - costing around £63k new. Only 200 or so were ever supplied by AMG for the UK market and obviously far fewer remain nowadays so perhaps a good investment for the future. Certainly superb value currently and if you look after it I suspect it's value can only increase from now on.
Options include electric glass sunroof, COMAND system + Bose sound upgrade, telephone pre-wire, parktronic system, Xenon headlamps with cleaning system plus the usual electric/heated/memory/orthopaedic seats, electric windows/mirrors, dual zone digital climate control and much more.
This is a completely original and un-modified standard car with all the correct AMG bits - AMG exhaust system, AMG brakes, AMG springs and dampers, AMG anti-roll bars, AMG staggered 17-inch alloy wheels (7.5J front, 8.5J rear) plus the AMG body styling, instrument cluster etc, perforated leather steering wheel with stitched leather AMG airbag etc. It looks superb, sounds wonderful, and it starts/goes/stops exactly as it should with the 347hp/510Nm V8 taking this car from 0-62mph in around 5.4 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 155mph.
Bodywork is in great condition - I doubt you'll find a nicer one and it puts many newer cars to shame. I've cared for it very well and kept it garaged throughout my ownership.
All of the instrument cluster displays are in perfect order with all of the LCD screens working correctly.
Engine, gearbox and transmission are all spot on and have all had fresh fluids and filters within the last few thousand miles including the all important ATF which was carried out by reputable specialist Prestige Car Service in Horndean recently.
Insurance costs me just over £200 PA on a modern classic policy and I average around 20mpg overall. 25-30mpg is realistic on a longer cruise.
If you are looking for a very clean and unabused rare V8 CLK AMG that goes like a rocket with superb build quality then look no further. As said, I have just put a year's MOT on it and have fitted a brand new Genuine MB battery. Any inspection is welcome. I have owned this car for over five years now so obviously it's a good one and I have a genuine reason for sale.
These cars are better built than the early 209 CLK and I doubt you'll find a nicer one of these last of the line 208 CLK55s for sale at any price. Most are getting very tatty and have done much higher mileage than mine.
There are some pics on here but I'll take some fresh ones hopefully at the weekend subject to decent weather:

Private plate is included or it can go back onto its original '51 plate if you prefer.
£4650 please before I advertise it elsewhere for slightly more.
Any questions please by PM
