Just an observation but have you all noticed how many drivers have there front fog lights on all the time.
This is illegal i got pulled over early morning a few years ago in my old E class for having mine on.
Does seem to be mainly people in hot hatches. Also while im at it ive noticed lots of newer cars have led front lights that seem to be on all the time but no rear ones whats the point ?

I thought fogs-on was a dying trend, I haven't seen as many around now as 5 years ago. It's probably because of DRLs as well, which were put on for safety reasons, in the same way that motorcycles have their lights on for visibility in daylight so cars it was deemed should have the same - now it's just done for aesthetics by most car companies.

The people who have their front fog lights on all the time usually elect to save the power they use for their fog lights by not indicating. :dk:

The automatic daytime lights on our CL show all sidelights including the rear and dipped headlights. A blaze of light at the front which is too much so I deactivate them.

I tend to use my foglights because the ML is built so much higher than "normal" cars that the low-beam goes straight into the car in front's rear view mirror.

Yes, I will accept any amount of praise for being a considerate driver...

Obviously when visibility is bad, the low-beams get used because it's always nice to see where you're going.

I am also aware that the Osram Nightbrakers I use are "over-run" such that they have a much shorter life, so don't get used when street lighting is adequate.

This started years ago around the Birmingham area, I am talking about 15 years ago I used to travel around the midlands a lot then ,if you went further north people did not do it and down south people did not put on their front fogs,I must admit I have not seen it recently where I live in Essex, what does seem to be on the increase is people with daylight running lights not putting their lights on when it gets dark,so the back of their car has no lights.

The other thing I don't like is fog light coming on as a turning light - just looks weird. I generally leave my lights on auto and forget about what they're doing, except for the main beam which I turn on and off myself as I don't trust the clever blinders.
