Hi All,
Today I was out driving had to U turn due to a road accident. Sat Nav has always worked perfectly. After performing U turn Sat Nav continued with audio instructions and the screen updated with turn instructions but the map display remained frozen. I've tried changing destinations and the problem remains - audio instructions fine along with on-screen turn instructions but the same frozen map display.

Any ideas please?

Frozen screen you say, have you tried spraying some de-over on it? 😁

I’ve not come across this before. One thing to check is whether the screen and COMAND is switching off when you switching off the ignition? If it stays “in” then it could drain your battery quickly.

My only suggestion would be to either remove COMAND and wait for 10 minutes or disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, to give it chance to full close down and then restart when reconnected.

You’ll probably need the security code in either scenario. If disconnecting the battery then you may need to reset windows, sun roof, etc. Open and continue holding the button for 5 seconds, then close and continue holding the button, and repeat a couple times.

Some systems do a hard reboot if you do a long press on the power off button - no idea on yours as you haven't said which one you have. Saves having to reset everything when you pull the battery

As above. Try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins and see if it resets. As said you may need to reset windows/ sunroof

Cheers will try.

Hi,
I drive a C220 CDi Blue Efficiency on a 13 plate. Becker Sat Nav. Will try your solution before a battery disconnect.

Sorry didnt realise it was not COMAND. May still work for Becker system. Worth a try.
