help needed.
I am in a dilemma this end. I bought and plugged in a diagnostic scanner in my mercedes W163 ML500 2002 model.
I started a thread on the error code P2001 N15/3 faulty. This new thread i started is because I seem to have a different fault away from the faulty ETC Module.
I phoned a company today, ready to find and remove the ETC module, to send to them for rebuilding.
I explained i ran a dignostic test and they told me since I admitted I was new to using scanners, to give myself a chance to make sure the codes are now and present, and not showing from previous times and making it look like they are happening now. He told me to clear every fault code i can find, as in I was going to wipe from the vehicles memory any faults through-out its history, which I have now done.
He told me to then disconnect the battery for at least 30 mins.
Do an adaptive throttle factory re-set after re-connecting the battery and try to drive the vehicle as far as possible before it will just stop moving and no throttle left.
Do a quick key re-set if I slow down too much to get it back home. He even joked about going in reverse to get her home as limp home mode will work in reverse he said.
I made it, only just, did 11 miles.
Plugged in the scanner and the screens below are what i found.
No P2001 fault showing and only one fault with the Air con.
He reckons the throttle position sensor needs re-programmed, but my diagnostic scanner cannot do this.
So does this scan show all okay, and mean the throttle position sensor and the throttle body somehow do not know what is going on between each other, hence now, no throttle?
Or is the P2001 code just waiting to trip in again and show a faulty ETC module?
