Gear letters on dash disappearing - then gearstick won't change

Hello, when I start my e320 sometimes the gear letters do not appear on my dash, and I can't drive above 3000revs, when I try to put it in reverse the gear box sticks and I need to turn off, put the car into park then start the engine. Sometimes the letters reappear and sometimes they dont.

E320 CDI 2004 W211 btw

Any advice would be appreciated
