Hi, how much does a TCM cost to be programmed please my Gearbox has failed and also has my flywheel, I believe my TCM went aswell because it was selecting strangely just before it went. It the made a whinning sound and rolled to a stop so I'm struggling as no one wants to touch it to find out what's wrong all they want to do is take the gearbox out recondition it and give it back ive been quoted £5000 so far, can anyone give me some help please

Welcome to MBClub, and I’m sorry to read of the problems you’re having. It’s something i don’t know much about but others will be along soon who may know more or suggest a workshop in your area.

Which model is it, which engine, and which year was it registered in?

As above. Welcome.

Who has diagnosed the problem?

Without functioning gearbox there is little point in programming the TCU unless I have misunderstood?

its a cla c220 amg sport 2013, I took it to a MB Specialist they said check the tray in the bottom of the gearbox if its got swarf in it the gearbox has gone if it hasn't then its the dual clutch and fly wheel. they only do electrical and not mechanical so I need to find someone to change those and look in the bottom of the gearbox oil tray.

Sounds like you need a transmission specialist to diagnose what’s going on. A member may be able to recommend one in your area.

VMTP are a transmission specialist in the Midlands and are very good but of course the cost of recovering the car there wouldn’t be insignificant.

Perhaps a good secondhand gearbox might be more cost effective.

no you haven't and point taken, I've been told so many different things that im now bouncing between them, this has been confirmed I need a new Flywheel I then got told I would need to change the Dual clutch, Ive added the TCM because I'm trying to cover all bases because they deteriorate over time.

What transmission is this?

Automatic or manual?

Most automatics do not have a clutch, they have a torque converter.

Some cars have DSG gearboxes that do have a clutch arrangement.

The OP mentions dual clutch:
