Does anyone know where I can get hold of decent mercedes roof rack for a W208 CLK? I'm assuming the Clk can be fitted with roof bars!?!?

I want to avoid cheap roof bars as I had some fitted to my missus' RAV4 and the wind noise was unbearable!!!

It can, I've got a set of Thule aero bars on my CLK, for carrying my mountain bikes. The original MB bars were made by Thule.

(A rather old photo :) )

I got mine from Roofracks.co.uk

The Aero bars look much better than the standard square bars (and are probably a fair bit quieter!)

Perfect, that's exactly why I need them. Thanks for that.

How did you fit them? is it a simple case of removing the plastic trim that sides down each side of the roof (front to back) and then the fitments will be exposed?

Is there much wind noise? if I have to travel 4 hours to North Yorkshire with the kind of wind noise that the cheaper Thule square section roof bars on our Rav4 make I think I'd go mad!!!

You don't need to remove anything; the feet rest on the roof and the brackets slot into the window frame cut-outs. You then tighten the fitting to the roof. All very solid :)

As you'd expect, there is some extra noise, but I've done trips to Scotland several times, North Wales, Peak District, etc., with the rack (and bikes) on without concern. Can't honestly say I've ever really been aware of the wind noise.

Benefit of buying through roofracks.co.uk is that they will match the locks so you don't need several keys.
