hi as winter around the corner, anyone got any tips on precautions?
1) is it wise to coat the rubber door seals with Vaseline to stop freezing or is this crude?
2) any precautionary things to do to door locks to stop freezing?
3) I have bought some s/h 18" alloys with tyre from ebay... just to 'save' my other alloys till summer is back...

I appreciate if you have a garage it may be no concern... but mine is parked outside :((
was thinking getting car cover... but suppose only useful if car is clean.... if dirty and you put it on I gather it will scratch car body, besides cover refracting dirt from the car

I think vaseline rots the seals, better to use silicon. WD40 stands for "water displacement" so good in locks.

Decent screen wash is my tip. (hardly ground breaking though) ;)

if you have a RWD merc estate or saloon, they are not good in snow - consider getting a 4WD

I did the opposite and got rid my X3.... Don't think it will be driven too much when there is snow & ice... Not as much fun!

I'm going south of the equator for 6 months come November. Thats my tip.
