Hi
Im happy enough with the audio 20 sound system in my C Coupe but most of my CD.s are mp3 discs is there anyway to somehow play them through the Audio 20.
Can a CD changer that plays MP3 discs be fitted it has the Aux in socket but i hate using a ipod and its a pain having no control over it.
I know some of you are gonna say change the whole unit but it seems very expensive to do.

In hope Dave

Yes, but it has to be a specific model of CD changer - a number of people have done it on here including me! I need to go out but if you search using my forum name there will be whole threads discussing it. Let us know how you get on please so others can learn from it too

This should start you off Play MP3 files?

It seems to me that any changer that plays MP3 discs is an indash one i need a glovebox one ?

When I upgraded my head unit to a 9" android cutie, I removed all the redundant MOST components, including 6x CDC from the glove box.
Up until that time it played mp3 happily, I also retrofitted 3.5mm jack AUX input, with bluetooth adapter - both worked fine too.
All long since gone, but here's the p/n and a couple of pics.

Obviously, the MOST fibre optic network must be there, for it to function.

My apologies - I misread your original question - I thought you have a CDC, just not mp3-capable.

If there's no wiring for CDC in the glovebox, it'll cost a fortune to retrofit - the electrical wiring is simple enough - 3 wires: permanent 12V; trigger positive; ground.
But the fibre optic retrofit harness will be expensive, both the optic loom itself, and more so - the labour.

It'll certainly cost more, than a model-specific aftermarket unit. Plus there's no guarantee the Audio 20 will even work with fibre optic CDC, unless there are other components already present (UHI, amp) ...

If you have an AUX input, you can fit a powered USB adapter, or if you have an MMI, it's just a matter of plugging in an OEM cable for USB.
