My daughter’s GLA 200 has a problem with the air distribution system, only a weak flow can be directed to the windscreen although the full blast demist seems to work. iCarsoft suggests a mechanical malfunction so I hoped a reset of the flaps might cure it but the usual ‘press demist and recirculate for 5 seconds’ doesn’t work. It has the basic aircon controls, not climate control. Any suggestions on how to perform a reset?

The obvious is to use STAR/Xentry to do the reset, after reading any error codes.

Indeed but I was rather hoping there was a button combination that had the same effect.
When I had an issue with the flaps on my S203 the two button combination only worked to a point and it needed STAR to fully reset the operation of every flap.

Have you checked that the cabin filter isn't blocked?

Try actuating blender flap via xentry and see if the motor moves. The flap could be seized. I've replaces a couple on r172 slk
