from experience. The glow plugs are faulty. They have tripped the copper lines in the relay box for the CDI glow plugs. You will have to replace all glow plugs. Reason, well if one faulters then other may follow, so replace all plugs. Once done, saddly you will need to replace the relay box. Inside here, there are copper lines that act like a fuse box. Yes they can be repaired but not recommened. DO NOT buy 2nd hand.
Main advise, warm the engine up for 30 mins on tick over. With full access ready for glow plug removal. Use a torque bar and correct socket to unbolt/unscrew the glow plugs. Max torque to use is 30NM Most break around 35 to 40 NM. Max torque to insert new ones are normally written on the box. Denso upto 15NM. If at 30 you click bar but not break glow plug. Drop oil around the threads, run for another 10 mins. Then repeat unscrewing. Keep doing this till it comes out. I had this on a vito. Took 3 hours to do safely. Max torque i used was 40NM to remove glow plugs. That was squeeking BADLY!!!!. 1/2 turn out then 1/4 back. lept heating up the engine and dropping more oil. Kept doing this till the glow plug came out.
These are very easy to snap. Be ready to sweat alot. Dont worry, someone tried before on the vito van and broken one and left it in place. So I need to buy a reaming tool then i can replace the black relay box. Currently I can start van but a little lumpy due to running on 2 glow plugs from -10.. sucks..
