Hi guys i have just spoken to my local parts supplier about a set of glowplugs for my 1998 E300 Td and he asked if the car has an immobiliser or not, so question is what difference would an immobiliser make to the glowplugs.. Thanks George..

None I would think unless there was a difference in the year the car was manufactured between those fitted with an immobiliser as standard and those that were not. I would have thought that if you gave them the VIN number this should nail the spec. Good luck

The glow plugs have nothing to do with the immobiliser.
I recomment the Bosch Duraterm, best glows :)
then the beru if youcannot get the bosch.

I have also just checked the Euro car parts website and they have the same one type for immobiliser and one without. If you zoom the picture of the glowplug it looks as if the connector is different.. Thanks George..

if you are not too far away you could ask them to bring you the 2 different sort, I am sure they would be the same.
The difference wuld be on the 606 engine non turbo and the 606 turbo engine that have indeed different end but are the same lengh.

My engine is the 606 Turbo i should have said. Thanks George.

Hi George,
you did say it, I was just pointing out that the 2 difference end are for the same engine but one is N/A and the other turbo.
All the best.

I did once get a set for my old C220D that looked a dead ringer until you tried to put the push on connectors on ....... it turned out that the size of the connector had been increased slightly (which I realised before breaking the connector!) in that manufacturing year (1996), so I had to take them all out- put the old ones back in - and back to GSF! very frustrating! As they had supplied me correctly in the past it does make you wonder if you shouldn't take one out first and get the part number to make sure. Good luck.
