Good E300 DT ?

My father in law is after an E class diesel and quite likes the look of this one.

Agree - looks worth a look. The grille's an easy thing to change - and it would want changing

The grilles cack and the car is gold, otherwise it looks Ok, but difficult to tell in a picture.

You need to go and have a good look. Only one thing to look for and a 300..rust. Mechanically they really are bomb proof, possibly the most reliable car Mercedes made.

Definitely something to haggle with, otherwise a nice car.

Most have been done now so rust less than other Mercs.
You can see it's had new doors.

It may have new doors (which demonstrates this car wasnt one of the lucky ones to be painted adequately) but what about the other rust that has just been covered up only to reappear in 18 months? And what about the rust you cant see like on the front spring cups?

The W210's suffer from more tinworm than any other car on the road from any manufacturer of this era. No wonder the prices are so cheap.

Try and buy a E class Diesel estate and you'll find W210s are cheaper than W124's for good reason.
