So I had the good fortune to go to Goodwood yesterday. Overall a cracking day out. Was corporate hospitality so was in the Hill Pavillion which is on th first bend of the hill climb course. Some lovely cars there on the day. Got off to a funny start. They had Lord March as passenger in 1965 Mustang. Siemens had rigged it up as an autonomous car. It wasn’t quite right. The “driver”had to keep correcting the steering as the car decided straw bales looked more safe than tarmac!
The Mercedes display is a bit flat. They have the new AMG hyper car but then it’s not much. Couple of G63 wagons, who wants one of those! A diesel a Class and a 220d C saloon. That was it. In contrast the BMW stand was on three floors, had the M2, M3 and M5 on display as well as a separate area showing the new 6 and 8 series. The 850 looks lovely! Mercedes we’re giving owners fre water and AMG sweets though!
Highlight of the day was the rocket man. Proper jet pack, flying up and down the course. Real James Bond. The new long tail McLaren was unveiled and they had the Senna on display as well.
