Goodyear EfficientGrip tyres

Folks,
I'm in need of a couple of 255x35x18's for the rear of my C250 Sport. Currently have Continental Sport 3's on there ..... have been happy with those, and got 20k on them (first time I've ever hit 20k on any tyres).

Ringing around my local tyre dealers I'm struggling to get Conti's ... one place had Conti Sport 5P (any ideas on theses), but the general consensus is that all tyre places are recommending Goodyear EfficientGrip's, priced at £180 each corner (inclusive).

Any opinions on these tyres? I appreciate that YMMV applies, but welcome any thoughts anyway.

I'm waiting for Monday morning to be able to ring my dealer to see what they will quote for 2x ContiSport 3's .. seems my dealer (Milton Keynes) does not do tyres, but they lease the business out to a 3rd party company who only works week days. Handy when you get a punture. Not.

Don't suppose anyone has bought Sport 3's from a dealier recently and can advise on the price ?

Andy.

Thanks Howard ...

Ended up with getting Sport 3's from MB Dealer in MK ... £179 a corner. Cheap this motoring lark eh?

Ouch that's expensive. I found Kumhos good value without any discernible difference in handling etc. Bear it in mind for next time, as these "next times" come around too quickly.

I have Maxxis on the C32 and have had no problems except in the snow - no surprise there then.

Goodyear EfficientGrips - excellent tyres. I've just fitted two on the back of my 270 CDI and they are great.

Your quote sounds pricey. Try what I did ...

Go to the Kwikfit Website, get a price for delivery and fitting to/at your nearest outlet. Set yourself up with an appointment (on line), toodle along and get them much, much cheaper !!
