Hi all, i got my new ignition amp in the post today and ive finally got a spark! thanks to everyone that helped!!! the only prob i have though, as its still not running, is i think the ht leads are all muddled! (i bought this car off a TOTAL idiot!) I think hes fiddled around with them when he could't get it going. anmyone know where ill get a diagram from or what the order is on the distributor cap? ive found a number 5, sitting correctly for the middle lead on the cap? seems odd though? i know the firing order just need to know where to put the leads on the cap. Any ideas?? thanks

Firing order on the M110 engine is 1-5-3-6-2-4.

All M110 engines have a displacement of 2.8 L (2746 cc) (170.8 cu in) and an 86 mm bore and 78.8 mm stroke. Firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4. Amount of coolant in the radiator was 11 litres from 1970s and 12 litres from 1980s and on. Amount of oil (lubricant) in engine was 6 litres. Lubrication system was pressure circulation lubrication system. Number of valves was 1 intake, 1 exhaust with V-shaped overhead configuration. Valve operation was 2 top camshafts and camshaft drive was duplex roller-type chain.

thanks alot for that. Ive got the firing order but im not sure where the number one plug goes to on the distributor cap, and i can work the others out from there. any ideas?

great thanks alot, ill have a look through it.

If you take off the distributor cap you will find a slot mark on the rim of the distributor. This is the position of number one cylinder.
