Saw this on TV and bought some, but before I try it, checking to see if anyone has experience of Greased Lightning Showroom Shine - looks too good to be true

www.greasedlightning.co.uk

If it works, could be great though

Any views?

believe it or not, it does actually work!

BUT, the overspray can be a pain on rubber/plastic 'bits', so i tend to use it for a quick summer spruce up & removing the 'little presents' from our local birdlife. :D

it is brill gives a far better job than bucket and sponge and does give a good shine when finished
have a look on ebay i bought my 32oz bottle £6 cheaper than the website 5 weeks ago

A proper car was takes about 4 steps. High pressure, orange solvent, hand wash and then detailed hand finish. You can also clay bar and wax if you really have the time.

Nothing like a nice glaze of polish over a semi-cleaned car.

I have just received my batch from idealworld.tv. before I use it can you tell me if you have had any problems, how much dirt will it actually remove, without scratching the car?

Buy first, ask later- gotta love that.

Tbh it looks like a diluted QD product, and I think it's subjective as to whether you are at risk of scratching your paint.
I don't EVER trust water-free solutions, and will continue to use buckets, shampoo and a washmitt...

ckember the first time i used it i doubtful nothing is ever as good as it seems so i presured washed the car used a bucket as well then dried it and it looked spottless but them i used the proshine and could not get over how much dirt came of but after i was finished had a look for scratches etc none to been seen and a mirror shine finish if you want to do a good job spend a while for the first time to apply the polish and shine next time won't take as long but i take for ages just to get out of the house

After the light dusting of snow a couple of down pours some sun ontop of two week crime, I got round to trying the greased lightening. Wow, what a difference, 15minutes and a completely clean car. shame it started to rain again as I could have finished the inside of the wheel rims.

it soon however became apparent where the dirt was when I tried to clean the micro fibre cloths with the supplied solution, seemed to take longer and more solution than it started and the cloths aren't that clean. Will buy some more though.

Also found out my dad uses something similiar to clean his boat

i pop my microfibre cloths in the washing machine with the towels on a 40 or 60 degree cotton wash, DON'T use fabric conditioner or tumble dry though (affects the fibres in the cloth & they won't pick up dirt very well).

always come out great, even if a there are a few marks left on the cloths, they are clean to use.

So, does this actually work? I need to get shot of that bird muck stain down the side of my rear spoiler. I've tried all sorts of stuff, no deal. Took it to my local MB dealer. They reckon it will have to be resprayed. I'd rather get it resprayed than waste more money on miracle sprays! Does it sort out swirls? Be glad to hear from someone with direct experience...

Was highly sceptical when hearing about this product. My mother had seen it on a shopping channel, even after seeing the advert which features a Mercedes Benz dealer who use the product I wasn't convinced.

When it arrived I didn't use it for over a week, I then used it on the E-Class and a Nissan Note which hadn't been used for a couple of months, we have several larges trees at the front of the property and the cars get covered in tree sap.

I have changed my opinion entirely - it is a brilliant product.

Both cars were quite dirty, I did not wash them first and just used the product as directed. I did everything bar the wheels and tyres (back to Autoglym for that) and I now have two cars with a stunning finish in the driveway - chrome, windows, the whole lot.The finish on the paintwork is absolutely fantastic.

To the sceptics (and I was one), no there are no scratches AT ALL and it was used straight onto dirt......

Highly recommended.

Its a Wax with abrasive and filler in it, so how can it sort out swirls.
It does a job but I wouldn't use it on decent paintwork.
I have used it on the micra runabout but not on the Merc.
