When I took out my policy with warrantywise in Dec 2016, I specifically asked about this problem and was told the seals may not be covered, but the work replacing them would.
Based on this information I took out an 08/80 plan as the car was over 4 years old but had 67k miles on. It's currently on 115k.
The policy book states the following cover re oil seals:
OIL SEALS
Engine and gearbox oil seals causing a major oil leak (dripping oil) and necessitating immediate replacement, where removal of the unit is essential (excludes worn collars and shafts).
When my mileage approached 100k, I called them and asked what difference is made to the level of cover and was told the failure of any part due to wear and tear is not covered above 100k, but the level of cover is the same. I decided to continue with the policy based on this.
Now, I am anticipating a rejected claim, but I would like to check if anyone has had this repair paid by Warrantywise so I can use this info, if required.
Thanks for your help.
