(i missed these blxxdy bananas)

The morpheous uses GPS to identify accident blackspots that require a speed check to avoid further deaths.

Im sure Guy has one of these ...

First there was the Geodesy, then there was the Origin Blue I(what Guy has), then there was the Geodesy Plus & Roadpilot. Very clever idea really, not sure if I want one yet...

I had the Geodessy for a while, but after it failed, I lost confidence and returned it.

Have done without now. I would want GPS notification and laser/radar detection etc, a bit like the new Morpheous Geodessy combo.

However you can never be safe. Vascar will get you everytime.

I like the look of the new Road pilot though. The school alert feature is a good idea.

EDIT: A friend trialed the famous "Valentine One" radar detector (not a GPS device) and said it still gave off loads of false alarms, and that's suppossed to be the best at about £600.

I got the Origin - one advantage is it fits in the ashtray -

What is interesting, is using one of these with a Bel radar system.

The Origin tells you where the cameras are well in advance. As you get nearer, the Bel tells you whether they are working or not, and a surprising number of them are not emitting any radar signal.

I wonder whether the radar stops working when they are out of film?

PS I've never tried speeding past one to find out!

You do get false alarms with the Bel too, but they the vast majority are in heavily built-up areas. You can turn off that particular frequency by hitting a button - and if you're speeding in a busy area - no sympathy anyway!
