Headlight issues, Fault code B2215-04

Hi all, we're having problems with the headlights on my wife's E350 Estate 2011, the fault code is B2215-04 I think this relates to the front SAM unit.
Is it possible to get a reconditioned or second hand unit and fit it or will it need coding?

Second hand SAM will need rercoding unless you are very lucky and find one from a car with exactly the same options as yours has.

Are you 100% its the SAM? New units are best as they have the Central Gateway inside them and they are chassis specific.

I don't know what that means sorry, I can't afford a new unit that's why I'm asking the question. I have posted the fault code which I think is the SAM unit but any help appreciated.

Id get it diagnosed properly. Head lights are very common to suffer from water ingress. Id be checking those firstly.
