Just thought I would give an unsolicited “thumbs-up” to a headlight restoration kit I used today.

The kit is the Sylvania Headlight Restoration kit.

It is a little expensive compared to other similar products, but the results are truly staggering.

On the plus side, the kit is enough to restore 3 sets of headlights, so costs defrayed in the long run.

As a postscript, can anyone recommend an upgrade to the standard H7 halogen headlight bulbs fitted to my W204 C-Class please?

The general consensus appears to be whatever the latest version is of Osram Nightbreaker.

Sorry to bump this thread. I have a 97 R129 SL500 that has some mould around the headlight units on the inside, I guess where the seal has failed. Wondering who in the UK is best to refurb these or if there is a kit of some sort? Thanks in advance!!

The kit I mentioned is for refurbishing the headlight lens only. If the seal on the unit is broken, this kit would be ineffective. There are lots of people advertising headlight refurbishment, so suggest you enquire with them to resolve the problem.

I took mine out disassembled and gave them a jolly good clean, along with some rubber treatment on the seal.
