Heated Seat Problem

I wondered if anyone can help the drivers heated seat works on the back but not on the base.
The element has failed or there is a break in the wiring to it. I’ve done a write up on replacing the element on a B Class, will be very similar - do a search.

Hello and welcome , Both my seats are like that . They are leather but to be honest it doesn't bother me . I will get round to fixing them when I am feeling brave.

Welcome aboard, looks like the element has gone, one of the major causes are children or grandchildren jumping up and down on the front seats.

Re heated seats, I'll add this here, just noticed that the passenger seat base wasn't heating up on my 2004 CLK. Someone on a different forum with the same issue found that the brown wire that comes out of the connector under the seat was detached. I have exactly the same issue. See picture. Fix is easy but seat has to come out, some tips, set seat to max height, undo two front bolts then move forward and undo 2 back bolts. Unplug and lift out. I was warned do not turn on ignition with seat disconnected or it'll trigger an airbag fault which needs the dealer Star system to reset.

This is a job I need to tackle on my e class, the drivers seat (typical) the light stays on for a max of 20 seconds then goes off so obviously an issue

Had to the same on my previous S212 ( on both front seats). The elemetns can be obtained at Mercedes parts counter and they are not uber expensive. Toko me around 3 hours to do both seats, not a very complicated job but a bit fiddly and a nice pair or tweezers helps a lot!
