Hi,
I have just purchased a 2013 ML350 and am hoping to do at least two, maybe more, retrofits. Fairly new to this forum.
I am hoping to do various projects on the car as shown below. My first one is :
1) Electrically retracting tow bar (needs rear tow bar, longditudinal members, rear bumber foam, new Ad-Blue bracket, two harnesses, new nuts and bolts, new Tow Bar control unit, new rear door switch, new driver door switch. Also a prerequisite is the larger fuel tank - which I have)
To assist in this process I have purchased a Star C4 (from China) with a HDD that I have just put into my old Lenonvo T410.
I am also considering other projects (which may or may not ever come about)
2) Tyre pressure monitoring (needs new tyre sensors, a control unit under the car and a harness)
3) Heated washer reservoir heat exchanger - which needs front bumper removal. No ECU re-programming needed.
4) Distronic (needs four new radar modules in bumpers, new radar behind grille, new Mercedes star badge, new control unit in passenger footwell, new bracket to hold control unit, new front bumper harness, multi -function camera, harness for ECU, harness for multi function camera. I aready have blind spot assist so I dont need a new harness in the rear bumper but the radar modules for Blind Spot Assist are different to Distronic). If you ever consider this then you will need someone to help you with Vediamo software to code up the car.
5) DAB Radio (needs control module, MOST connection, new harness but interestingly can use the existing ariel apparently)
6) Night Vision (which actually needs a new module, a new Windscreen (yep) in addition to new harness, new IR camera, new plastic covers behind mirror. Also a prerequisite is Intelligent Light System for front IR sensors in the lights - which I have)
Should have an interesting time with this "new" car of mine
