Apologies for my absence since last year - moving house, etc...
I am struggling to decide what to do with my W115 I bought the end of last year. Shortly after driving it home the head/head gasket proved faulty. I've been advised that the head is probably cracked.
I quite like the idea of swapping the engine instead of attempting more repairs... Question is do I try and find another M115 engine and put up with people asking stupid prices (some donk off ebay wanted £500 for one!), and thirsty mpg, or look to a newer engine and make some modifications.
If I go the second route, does anyone know if if there is another mercedes engine that will mate to the gearbox and what may be involved in the swap!
Alternatively if there is a reasonably priced M115 engine out there that someone would like to see bring an old girl back to life, please let me know.
