Help need a new windscreen!!

Coincidentally I was chatting with the guy who was checking our hot tub on holiday, he had recently left the industry after several years.

We were talking about screens and apparently there are two main players. pilkington being one I cannot remember the other but he did say that genuine Mercedes glass was better quality and he would always insist on genuine replacement.

He also mentioned that his company had invested in the appropriate tooling to recalibrate the screens.

I personally would insist on genuine replacement glass and he did say that if asked for this would be ordered in but there is less margin in it for his company so it would not be volunteered.

Saint Gobain.

Pilkingtons is a brand of Nippon Sheet Glass.

My screen is Saint Gobain, but NSG have a contract for some of the newer MB models.

Its crazy stuff to renew a policy but downgrade the cover without telling the car owner,it just shows how desperate some insurers are to retain custom,as AMGeed said they will not get your business next time, and I suppose it is a lesson to all of us check the policy even if you are staying with the same company,£405 with Autoglass sounds good, not sure you can get it done any cheaper,I always like to be there when they change a screen it sounds like your screen has connections just check they look ok on the new screen before it is fitted.
