Help needed

It started with jammed cd.Took car back to garage to have fixed.Came back nothing worked onld 6 Dashes on screen.Have taken to MB garage to have tested no problems showing.
This is a E240 w211 yes the one with fiber optics cable.
Can anyone help with
What to buy to replace this unit and where to have it fitted.With out the large costs.

Need to know what stereo you have.

a) Sat nav or not
b) Phone keys on unit white, or green&red

Which screen has the 6 dashes? The instrument cluster or the stereo screen?

If you have 6 dashes on the cluster, this means the car can not see the AGW/TGW (which is the head unit or in the boot based on your answers to (a) and (b). This also means that the diagnostic machine won't be able to see it, so MB saying no problems showing are wrong.

Was it MB that broke it completely ? Or did you take it somewhere else to fix the jammed CD ?

thanks for fast reply.

Its a audio 20,no nav and keys are white.

I returned car to garage I brought from they removed from car.As far as I know they had a problem fitting it back and did not get cd back.
Radio was working but when got it back nothing was working only 6 dashes on radio screen.

Hope this use full.
