Currently trying to remove my rear bumper on my CLS63 AMG so I can fit the Carbon diffuser, all is going well apart from the 2 bolts which hold the main section to the chassis.

According to a YouTube video they are 10mm bits which is fine, however on mine they have a long stem pointing upwards so I am unable to attach a socket. ive tried prising it downwards to no avail, nor is there enough space to get some pilers in.

Any ideas?

A deep ring spanner (assuming you can get it over the end of the bolt), or a crow's foot spanner may work?

Are you sure your bumper has to come off to fit a rear diffuser? I changed mine on my c class with the bumper in place, wouldnt have thought them to be that different

until I purchased the correct extra-deep 10mm socket, I managed these gripping a normal deep 10mm socket using long-nosed pliers inside where your extention would normally go..... those nuts aren't very tight as they clamp plastic down. mercedes use the same setup on many different models these days.

From the pics, I would try an ordinary open end spanner first...these nuts would not be that tight.
