Hi
this is my first post on this forum - ive been on Pistonheads for a number of Years and posted in the MB section but its not as busy as others so thought i'd try here.

I'm interested in a CL and wondered if anyone on here could give me info/help on the car (service history / options etc..) if i gave the reg. a people members have done it on Pistonheads but as i mentioned it seems quiet over there at the minute.
Thanks a lot
Gareth

Hi Gaz & welcome tothe forum, try using the search facility on cl,failing that i'm sure some current/previous cl owners will be along soon to help:thumb:

Thanks Steve
I spent most of last night reading through the search results on the model (and found some really useful info!!) am hoping someone might have access to a database or similar that can give me more info about the car.
cheers
Gareth

Hi Gareth and welcome.

If you post the VIN (not reg mark) I could get the MB Datacard which lists all of the factory-installed options, but I have no access to service history - not sure if anyone here does....

Thanks Steve

What year and what engine?

bump: sorry, hoping someone might spot this and will be able to help
thanks

Without the VIN , no one can pull up the datacard.

Can you not ask the seller for it , so you can check ?

The CL65 is a fantastic weapon. Very very fast and almost too quick. It has a horrendus problem with traction when driven hard.

They are fabulous cars but very expensive to run. Discs and pads are mega money as well as suspension components. The ABC system is great...but. They are not that realiable. You MUST get it looked over by a MB tech/mechanic before purchase. It could save you thousands.

ABC pumps are a common failure too. Expect to fit one in your ownership. Budget £1.5K+ for one. each shock is £1k and they do leak quite often.

They are a brilliant car but expensive to fix. Just bear that in mind.

Hi Olly
not sure if you are trying to put me off ;) and a good job the missus was looking after my shoulder when reading that!!
the seller said the ABC was serviced by MB in sept 2010. out of interest do the aftermarket warrantys (such as warranty direct) cover ABC pumps and shocks?
cheers

Hi Gaz

Hi Gaz

You have email :)

thanks a lot Howard
i can make out what most of the references are (keyless go etc..) what i was trying to see is if there is an option to different alloys? the ones on the car are different to the standard 65 alloys - these ones are the white ones - the owner described them in the ad as ''unique 19" Titainium AMG alloys ''

They'll be the grey ones with a silver lip , split rims. The inner split is basically gunmetal grey , but is called titanium.

Like this .

thats what i would have expected but these are the one on the car

Bog standard alloys , not unique at all. Makes a very special car look very plain.

I'd ask him where the £4.5k split rims that the car would have come with are .... ;)
