One of the questions I has was what is the advantage package and the connectivty package?

I cant seem to find these as options inthe 2018 c class manual?

Specifically wondering whether it has android auto and apple car play and whether i can be upgraded.

It looks like it has the Audio 20 head unit software

To have Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, the car will need to have following options on the Datacard:

15U PRE-INSTALLATION SMARTPHONE INTEGRATION MB LINK

16U SMARTPHONE INTEGRATION APPLE CARPLAY

17U SMARTPHONE INTEGRATION ANDROID AUTO

Also, there are various options for retrofitting/activating/installating Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, email [email protected] with the VIN and they'll tell what are your options and what are the costs.

The Advanced Connectivity Package includes the Smartphone Integration and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, but I am not sure if it's the same as the Connectivity Package... sorry.

hmm it has 15U which says mercedes link nit smart phone intergration

Nope it's the facelift version with the wide-screen

I bought a kit from Aliexpress few years ago for my W205 and installed it myself in 30 mins. If you are quite handy it is quite an easy job. I routed the cable down the back of the headunit to the passenger side footwell and put the box in there out the way. I did find that it charges your phone quite slowly but then again could be the kit I used.

Had no issues whatsoever with the box. I paid around £220 for it.

Lots of videos on youtube as well.

Only advantage of buying in the UK is that if you do face issues then they provide you with a warranty.

I have found this which appears to say this car is compatible without any need for wiring etc

Those OBD modules are only suitable for headunits which support Android Auto/Carplay from the factory but need it activated (some units did support this which is why you can simply activate it using a obd activator). If your headunit doesn't support Android Auto/Carplay from factory then you risk bricking your NTG system.

Give ComandOnline a call and they can tell you if you can simply activate this feature using a module or if you need a physical Box. Be vary of buying some of these devices from Ebay as a lot are from China with a crazy markup.
